This is the furthest into the winter that I have ever had a jalapeno pepper plant still living outside in the garden! It is January 5, 2024 and the weather forecasts show it could get down to the low 20s tonight, so this might be the last day for me to see this plant alive.



I harvested all the peppers, even though they had not turned red.







We had other nights that dipped slightly below freezing, but this plant was protected with some sheets I covered it with. I also poured warm water into the garden bed to keep the roots warm.



I'm sorry that this plant might die tonight. But I thank God for blessing me with a garden that could produce organic peppers this late in the year.
