Paul declared that all should:
1. Repent.
2. Turn to God.
3. Do good works worthy of repentance.
Why would the Jews want to kill Paul for this? Good works prove repentance. If we are not doing good, we are doing evil. If we are not doing evil, we are doing good. We are either doing good or evil. If we are following Jesus, we will be doing good, as he always did.
Jesus died for us, that we may be reconciled to God. However, he still expects us to pay restitution.
Acts 26:20 KJV
He…. “shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.”
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Some of those who call themselves Christian want to throw stones when they hear that they should do good works. But they should know that faith without works is dead.
