.... and yet many still think cloud seeding is a myth.
Some call it "chemtrails" because they usually spray a chemical like silver iodide. This is not the same as a contrail, which is H2O (water ice particles or water vapor, which dissipates quickly).
To show this is real and has been announced publicly, the
Washingtontimes.com posted this news in 2007:
- Cloud seeding is nothing new
- The Chinese said they would seed the clouds with silver iodide to force rainfall
- A more modern method is to disperse the silver iodide through flares on airplanes. As the flares burn, the chemical particles disperse at a uniform rate in clouds. They can either be dropped from airplanes or attached to the wings.
- There is also the chance that seeding will produce hail
This is old news: silver iodide is sprayed in the atmosphere to cause precipitation.... and sometimes hail.
The general public is ignorant of silver iodide spraying, but it's been going on for decades.
