Here is what the abbreviated version of the commandments will say in school:
The Ten Commandments
- I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
- Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven images.
The rest of the commandment is that we should not make images to bow down to and worship, but that part is abbreviated, which could lead to some confusion. The problem is when people make an image and then worship it.
- Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain.
- Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
- Thou shalt not commit adultery.
- Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
- Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his cattle, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.

I'm thankful for this. I was praying the other day that I did not like most of my property taxes going towards the local public school system that is ungodly. And now the school that receives the majority of my yearly property taxes must display the 10 commandments, which could expose children to God's word, giving them more of a chance at life, which I fully support.
