In the KJV Holy Bible, I have found no women who have died for their faith. Not one. There are a small number of men named who died for their faith. Of course, the most notable is the Lord himself: Jesus Christ.
Other men killed include:
- John the Baptist, beheaded after his imprisonment for saying Herod's marriage to Herodias, the wife of Herod's brother, was not lawful | Matthew 14:3-4, 10
- Zechariah, his father, slain between the altar and the temple | Matthew 23:35
- Steven, stoned by the Jews after his speech convicted them of their sin | Acts 7:59
- James the Apostle, killed by the sword on the orders of Herod, which pleased the Jews | Acts 12:1-3
Samson died, but by his own choice when he pulled down the pillars of the Philistine temple.
Abel was killed by his brother out of envy.
There is an account in the Apocrypha about a woman who died, but the scriptures do not say
how she died.
2 Maccabees 7 - A mother witnessed the execution of her seven sons, who are killed because they refused to eat pork and would not renounce their faith. After she saw this most horrible evil, she herself also died, but again, the story does not say she was tortured to death or killed, but simply concludes with "the mother died".
There are not many men given a testimony in the Bible for being killed specifically for their faith. And there are
no women named for being killed for their faith. God seems to always save them from their enemies. And he does so also for many men. It's rare to see a man killed for his faith
in the Bible. There are more accounts of righteous people being saved from their enemies because of their faith, than accounts of righteous people being killed for their faith.
