Catholics Forbid a Bishop to Marry, But Peter Did

The Roman Catholic church forbids that a bishop have a wife. They also claim their first bishop was Peter. And Peter had a wife.

The Bible does not confirm that Peter was ever in Rome, and does not say he was a Roman Catholic bishop, but clearly states he had a wife, which goes against the Catholic doctrine.

And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. Matthew 8:14 KJV

Peter had a wife, but since the Roman Catholic church declares married men cannot become bishops, their doctrine is not based on the truth of Jesus Christ. According to their own rules, Peter was not qualified to be their bishop.

Jesus never rebuked a man for choosing to marry. And if their first bishop, as they claim, was married.... then why do they forbid marriage?

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 KJV

The devils forbid marriage. Why are they devils? Because while they speak of God, they do not live according to his word.
