Concentration Camps In Ukraine

I was surprised to learn that in the 1940s, Ukraine built concentration camps and imprisoned people there.... even children.

As 150 local residents gathered Wednesday at City Hall to remember the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust, one among them was certain not to forget. "I can't," said Jacob Scharf of Nashua. "I went through that." When he was 11 years old, Scharf was sent to the Bershad concentration camp in Ukraine, where he spent three years in a room with 108 people. By the time he was freed, 100 of them had died, most from starvation. "I wonder so many times how I survived," he reflected.

Russian president "Vladimir Putin", as he declared war against Ukraine, stated it was home to neo-Nazism. In his address February 21, 2022, he said:

It is not surprising that Ukrainian society was faced with the rise of far-right nationalism, which rapidly developed into aggressive Russophobia and neo-Nazism. Source: http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/67828

While I do not support any physical war against our fellow human beings, I do see that there is an historical basis for Putin's claim. Ukraine was under Nazi control during World War II and it would be naive to consider that it was completely eradicated.

Regarding war, the only sure way to overcome evil is with good. Love is the weapon that defeats enemies. The Heavenly Father's kingdom shall be established on earth as it is in heaven.... and His kingdom is that of peace, love, and joy.

Confirmation (second testimony)

We arrived in Bershad, Ukraine ... tens of thousands of Jewish souls were massacred in the Bershad ghetto during the Holocaust
