The game of dominoes may have originated in China, where it is referred to as "骨牌" (gǔpái) or "牌九" (páijiǔ).



"骨牌" (gǔpái) literally means "bone tiles" - the earliest domino pieces were made of bones and ivory. I wonder if someone ever dared to make their pieces out of human bones.



"牌九" (páijiǔ) literally means "cards for nine" - dates back centuries - used a set of rectangular tiles divided into two squares, each marked with different patterns or numbers. The game is historically significant and was often associated with gambling, social gatherings, and divination.

The use of dominoes in divination seems related to Tarot cards. I wonder if dominoes are today used by some for divination. I would not recommend either, but if any man has a question about his future, he should turn to the Lord God in humble prayer and ask Him for guidance.
