The criminal was supposed to die on the cross. But they released him and crucified Jesus instead.

Matthew 27:17 KJV | Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

Barabbas in Greek = son of Abba



Abba is Father. Abba is our God, our Heavenly Father. Barabbas = son of God.

Galatians 4:6 KJV | And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Jesus, the Son of God.... died for the son of God.

Abba, save me, too! I have sinned and am a criminal according to your law. Redeem me with the blood you shed. Make me free from the curse of the law. Give me the strength to not commit any more crimes.

Are you also Barabbas? Are you a child of God, whom the Son of God died to redeem?
